The premise
A misunderstanding,
a graveyard, and
one stupid party.
Igor arrives at Dracula’s castle to wake him for Halloween, like every year. Dracula tells Igor to “dig up some guests for the party.” Igor takes that literally.
He empties the entire local graveyard. Bones in a wheelbarrow. Brings them all to the castle. Dr. Frankenstein gets handed a pile of skeletons and a tight deadline. He reluctantly reanimates them, still rattled from the time he had to rebuild his monster in secret after the first mishap.
The invitations go out. The monsters get excited.
Meanwhile, the villagers who live near the graveyard notice their graveyard has been robbed. They immediately blame Dracula. They form an angry mob. Pitchforks. Torches. The whole thing.
The party starts. The mob marches toward the castle. It is, of course, raining.
The mob arrives. The monsters all hide. Igor goes out to explain — he honestly didn’t realize the villagers were still using those bones. The villagers are unmoved. Then Igor offers them something nobody can really say no to: one dance with their lost loved ones.
The witches spin an illusion. The skeletons appear as the ghosts of who they were. The villagers come inside. They dance. They get along.
Igor promises to put the bones back. The villagers agree to come back next year.
Everyone eventually dies lives happily ever after.

Chapter 01
It Must Be Halloween
The Scene
Igor arrives at Dracula’s castle on a stormy Halloween. The castle comes alive at his return. The portraits’ eyes follow him. The ghosts rattle their chains in welcome. He wakes Dracula, like every year. Everyone is excited for the party.
The Song
The ghosts of the castle are happy to see me
It must mean that it’s Halloween
They take me to where the master’s been sleeping
Barely containing their shrieks and their screams
The cobwebs and candles are all so familiar
Passing by each is like seeing a friend
The eyes of the portraits that clutter the hallways
Stare back to say it’s good to see you again
Chorus
It must be Halloween, it must be Halloween
Goblins and witches and zombies and screams
It must be Halloween, it must be Halloween
Everything dead here is dancing again
The ghost of the castle, lead me to the cellar
Where the master has slept for hundreds of years
He is the vampire who everyone knows
The center of all Transylvania’s fears
I have the honor of waking his slumber
To make sure he’s ready for Halloween night
All of the monsters know the best party
Is here at the castle so stay for a bite
Chapter 02
Not Your Regular Ghost
The Scene
One of the castle’s ghosts gets boastful about how scary he is. Just before another ghost knocks him down a peg.
The Song
I’ve been drifting around and I’m the permanent host
Tangled in cobwebs like a fly that’s engrossed
I’ve been haunting for years, so I don’t mean to boast
If you think you’re scared now, I’m not your regular ghost
Chorus
Not trying to scare you baby
I’ll leave you terrified
Not trying to scare you baby
Cause I’m the ghost that makes you run and hide
I’m completely see through and I’m lighter than air
I appear and surprise you, but then I’m not there
Did you hear those noises? They’re coming from upstairs
Try to be brave and pretend you’re not scared
You can gather your friend, you can search for the clues
But you’ll fly out the door when I start floating toward you (Boo!)
Did you hear that whisper? Are you coming unglued?
Let me rattle these chains, it helps set the mood
